Hello World and Happy Spring! In the fall, my dad planted a few fall bulbs, and a few weeks ago, they started to bloom. He planted crocuses, hyacinths, daffodils, and tulips. Here is some planting information and some pictures of the flowers.

Planting:

My dad purchased bulbs from Sam’s Club and Menards and planted after the first frost in our area. Before the frost (mid/end of October), he dug a hole in the ground 8 to 12 inches deep. The rule of thumb is to dig 3 times the size of the bulb. He placed around 3 bulbs of each (crocus, hyacinth, daffodil, and tulip) in each hole so that we get flowers for the whole season. On the top of the hole, he placed a piece of wire mesh to protect the bulbs from squirrels, chipmunks, and bunnies. It was a wait time of 6 months to see the results………. and here they are.

Crocus

The crocuses were purple and white, and came up first.
